The Basic Lowdown

So here’s the basic lowdown. I’m a rising senior at Stony Brook University which is located at Stony Brook, NY. Suffolk County people. Long island. No I haven’t developed the accent thank god. I am proud to be a Business Management major with a specialization in Marketing, as well as an Anthropology major with a key interest in cultural anthropology. I am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and I’m thrilled to have received their Scholar at Sea Award for the Summer 2010 voyage. I am also the recipient of the Scudder Stepping Stone Scholarship courtesy of the amazing Scudder family. I’ll also be working in the Student Life department onboard the MV Explorer.

I was born and raised in Queens, NYC. I absolutely love NY.

You wouldn’t know it by looking at me, but I’m half Colombian. The other half is a mutt mix of english, irish, french, german, hungarian, austrian, czech, etc.

I love taking pics though I’m nearly as good at taking them as I’d like to be. I love making little videos. I absolutely love traveling. I think I’m a bit zany and dorky, but I’m totally okay with that. Oh and I’m random, as clearly evident by the structure of this section.

I can surprise you.
So try to keep up.
I know, I know, it can be hard.

I love to sing. I think i have a decent voice. Its the most cathartic thing in the world for me. Music is a major passion of mine and always will be. I also love to read and write to heal my wounds and pass the time.

Anthropology, Marketing, and Disney are my passions cuz I’m cool like that.

I recently dealt with the passing of my Nana, Janet Marie Connors. She really was the sunshine of our lives, and I miss her every day. Currently this quote from her is motivating me: “There is no way that she’s not going on that semester at sea.” I’m going to make sure to make this experience as great it can be especially for her! I love you nana forever and always. Get god to send Mr. Darcy my way please! I’ll always remember!

I can’t wait for the trip of a lifetime. It’s starting to actually seem real.
